ACTIVE

Anticipatory Action Trigger Design, Financing Arrangements & Evidence Generation in Yemen

This project supports the development of climate-informed anticipatory action in Yemen by analyzing seasonal-to-subseasonal rainfall drivers and their links to drought, excess rainfall, and flooding. The work also supports operational forecast and trigger systems, capacity building, and the co-development of climate information tools with national meteorological and disaster-risk stakeholders.

Columbia Global Research Stabilization Fund (RSF)

This project supports the continued development and delivery of operational climate forecast products, including monthly ENSO outlooks and seasonal and subseasonal precipitation and temperature forecasts. It also advances forecast dissemination, data infrastructure, and user engagement to improve access to climate information and its usefulness for decision-making.

Machine Learning-Based Post-Processing of Sub-Seasonal to Seasonal Predictions of Sub-Divisional Rainfall over India

This project developed machine-learning approaches to improve probabilistic sub-seasonal rainfall predictions over India, focusing on forecast calibration and multi-model ensemble prediction at the sub-divisional scale. The work also evaluated forecast skill and identified opportunities for improved probabilistic guidance for sector-specific decision-making.
